New ads promoting COVID-19 vaccines made their debut, targeting Black communities that have a slow uptake of the booster shots. Black audiences in the On Point video released by the US Department of Health and Human Services are encouraged to get vaccinated as a form of health maintenance.

“The new television ads airing today send an urgent message to communities at high-risk of severe illness from COVID that the updated vaccine is the best tool we have against hospitalization and death,” says Health and Human Services Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, Sarah Lovenheim, in a letter to CNN.
